voters of the County at a regular or special election called
for that purpose upon such notice and in the same manner
as other regular and special elections are held.
SEC. 12. And be it further enacted, That the provisions
of this Act are severable, and it is the intention to confer
the whole or any part of the powers herein provided for, and
if any of the provisions of this Act shall be held unconstitu-
tional by any court of competent jurisdiction, the decision
of such court shall not affect or impair any of the remaining
provisions of this Act. It is hereby declared to be the legis-
lative intent that this, Act would have been adopted had said
unconstitutional provisions not been included therein.
SEC. 13. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

(House Bill 263)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 1 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Alle-
gany County", sub-title "County Commissioners", said new
section to be known as Section 99A, to follow immediately
after Section 99 of said Article, relating to the purchase
of supplies and equipment for the departments of Alle-
gany County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Allegany County", sub-title "County Commis-
sioners", said new section to be known as Section 99A, to
follow immediately after Section 99 of said Article, and to
read as follows:
99A. All supplies and equipment needed at any time by
the several departments of the County may be purchased on
an order passed by the said County Commissioners provided
the cost of the supplies or equipment covered by any one
order shall not exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00).
When the cost of supplies or equipment exceeds Five Hun-
dred Dollars ($500.00), the clerk to the Commissioners shall
