sideration, making whatever amendments thereto deemed ad-
visable by the Town Council, said budget shall be adopted
before levying taxes for said ensuing year.

50. (Settlement of Claims.) The Mayor and Town Coun-
cil is hereby empowered to settle, in its discretion, claims
and suits, at law and in equity, whether based on a suit or
not, whenever it arises out of negligence or wrongful act,
of commission or omission, if not done in performing a gov-
ernmental function.

51. (Place of Imprisonment.) The Town of Bladensburg
shall have the free use of all places of detention or confine-
ment under the jurisdiction of the County Commissioners.

52. (Distribution of Public Monies.) The County Com-
missioners and all other public authorities shall pay to the
Town of Bladensburg its share or proportion of public monies
a part of which may be paid to any other municipality in
Prince George's County.

53. (Alcoholic Beverage Licenses.) The Town Council
may, at its discretion, require a license for the sale of alco-
holic beverages within the town provided said license fee
does not exceed twenty percent of the licenses fixed for county
purposes and provided further that the manner of payment
and the method of enforcing payment shall be provided for
by ordinance adopted by said Town Council.

54. (Prosecution of Violators.) The violation of any of
the provisions of this sub-title or of any ordinance passed
pursuant thereto, shall be by prosecution before any police
trial magistrate of Prince George's County, and any fine or
penalty recovered before said police trial magistrate for a
violation of any of the provisions of this sub-title, or any
ordinance passed pursuant thereto shall be paid to the Treas-
urer of said town by the magistrate or County Commission-
ers. The police of said town shall be entitled to lodge any
person under arrest, until trial, in any place of confinement
provided by the County Commissioners of said County for
county prisoners.

55. (Vacancies.) If any vacancy shall occur by the death,
resignation, removal from town or refusal to act of any
elected officer of the Town of Bladensburg, or if any person
elected as an officer or councilman of the town shall be dis-
qualified from any cause, the remaining members of the Town
Council and the Mayor, if not disqualified, shall elect a quali-
