All suits at law for violation of rules, ordinances, regula-
tions, by-laws and this charter shall be instituted in the name
of the Town of Bladensburg against offending parties and all
fines collected by Trial Magistrates for breach of such rules,
regulations, ordinances, by-laws, and of this charter shall be
paid to the Town Treasurer as provided by Ch. 541, Maryland
Laws of 1939 (Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's
County, 1943 Ed., s. 1076).

41D. (Proof of Ordinances.) A copy of any ordinance or
record of the Mayor and Town Council of Bladensburg certi-
fied by its Town Clerk under its seal to be, a true copy shall
be received in all courts as presumptive legal evidence of the
facts therein stated. The printed ordinances issued as herein-
after provided by the authority of the Town Council may be
read in evidence in all courts as prima facie proof of the
ordinances copied therein.

41E. (Codification of Ordinances.) The Town Council may,
by ordinance, provide for the codification of all ordinances
which have been or may be passed by it, and for the printing
of such codification thereof.

TOWN TREASURER

42. (Qualifications.) There shall be a Town Treasurer,
elected from the Town at Large, whose term of office shall be
two years. To qualify as such, he must be a legal voter in
said town and owner of real estate in his or her name whether
or not jointly with spouse in the Town of Bladensburg assessed
on the County assessment books to the value of at least $1,000.
00. Before he enters upon his duties he shall give bond payable
to the Mayor and Town Council of Bladensburg, in such penal-
ty as the Mayor and Town Council may fix, with surety to be
approved by it, conditioned as it may direct, and the said
Treasurer shall qualify and enter upon the duties of his office
on or before the first meeting following the certificate of
election. A failure to qualify within the time herein specified
shall be deemed a refusal to accept the office, whereupon the
Mayor and Council shall order a new election to fill the
vacancy. In the event of the death, resignation, inability to
act or removal for cause of the Treasurer by the Mayor and
City Council, it shall be its duty to appoint another Treasurer
under like conditions as to bond, to serve until the next suc-
ceeding town election, at which his successor shall be chosen
to serve until the expiration of the regular term of Treasurer
or until his successor may be elected and qualified.
