of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County",
subtitle "Sanitary Districts", and to add a new section
to said Article, the said section to follow immediately
after Section 425 and -to be known as Section 425A, relating
to Sanitary Districts within Anne Arundel County; pro-
viding for the annual salary of the Commissioners; pro-
viding for the election of a Chairman and Vice Chairman;
providing for annual, stated, special and organization meet-
ings; providing for the creation of three separate depart-
ments, administrative, engineering and legal; providing
new classifications and defining the same, and for other
purposes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 425 and 432 of Article 2 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne
Arundel County", sub-title "Sanitary Districts", be and they
are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and a
new section is hereby added to said Article, to follow im-
mediately after Section 425 and to be known as Section 425A,
all of said sections to read as follows:

425. For the purpose of carrying out the provisions of
this Act, the said Sanitary District, and every new Sanitary
District created hereafter, shall be under the jurisdiction of
a Commission of three educated persons, who shall reside
within a Sanitary District of Anne Arundel County, be resi-
dent taxpayers of said county and qualified voters thereof.
The term of each of the three members shall be three years
and until their successors are appointed and have qualified.
The three Commissioners now constituting the Commission
shall hold office until the expiration of the terms for which
they were respectively appointed. As the term of each of the
Commissioners now serving expires, he or his successor shall
be appointed by the Board of County Commissioners of Anne
Arundel County. Until May 1, 1948, the Commission
shall appoint, discharge at pleasure and fix the compen-
sation of a secretary-treasurer; a chief engineer, and such
engineering, legal, clerical and other personnel and help, as
from time to time the Commission may deem necessary to
carry out the provisions of this Act.

The annual salary of each of said Commissioners shall be
as follows: The Chairman shall receive a salary of Twelve
Hundred Dollars ($1,200.00) per year, payable monthly;
each associate member of the Commission shall receive a salary
of Nine Hundred Dollars ($900.00) per year, payable
monthlv.
