SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 329.
(House Bill 104)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 41 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Governor—Execu-
tive and Administrative Departments", sub-title "General
Provisions", said new section to be known as Section 3A
and to follow immediately after Section 3 of said Article,
providing that failure of members of State Boards and
Commissions to attend meetings shall be considered the
same as resignations.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Governor—Executive and Administrative Departments", sub-
title "General Provisions", said new section to be known as
Section 3A, to follow immediately after Section 3 of said
Article, and to read as follows:

3A. Any member of any State Board or Commission ap-
pointed by the Governor who shall fail to attend the meetings
of the Board or Commission of which he is a member for
a period of twelve consecutive months shall be considered
to have resigned and the Chairman of said Board or Commis-
sion shall forward or cause his name to be forwarded to the
Governor, with the statement of such non-attendance, and
the Governor shall thereupon appoint his successor for the
remainder of the term.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.
