Nurses", increasing the filing fee for registration and exam-
ination of nurses.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 289 of Article 43 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Health", sub-title "Re-
istration of Nurses", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
289. It shall be the duty of said Board of Examiners of
Nurses to meet not less frequently than once in every year,
notice of which meeting shall be given in the public press
and in one nursing journal one month previous to the meet-
ing. At this meeting it shall be their duty to examine all
applicants for registration under this sub-title, to determine
their fitness and ability to give efficient care to the sick.
Upon filing application for examination and registration each
applicant shall pay a fee of twenty dollars ($20.00).
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety and
having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by
three-fifths of all of the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 32 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Dentistry", said
new section to be known as Section 5A and to follow im-
mediately after Section 5 of said Article, requiring an
annual registration of licensed dentists in this State.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
32 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Dentistry", said new section to be known as Section 5A,
to follow immediately after Section 5 of said Article, and to
read as follows:
