and they are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to
survey, subdivide and offer for sale the following described
land:

All those lots of ground now a part and parcel of the
Allegany County Farm on the Southeasterly side of Holland
Street, said lots being 120 feet in depth and beginning at the
intersection of Holland Street and Roeth Avenue and running
northeasterly to the south side of lot 165 as now laid out on
plat of Dilfer Farms according to a survey dated May, 1937,
by H. W. Schaidt, a copy of which plat is now in the posses-
sion of the County Engineer.

Said parcel of land shall be forthwith surveyed and sub-
divided into lots no less than 50 feet wide fronting on said
Holland Street and no more than 120 feet in depth. Immedi-
ately upon completion of said survey the County Commissioners
shall advertise the lots for sale for such consideration and
upon such terms as they deem reasonable. Veterans of World
Wars I and II who were discharged under conditions other
than dishonorable shall be granted a preference, in the order
of applications received, to purchase said lots. Any lots
remaining unsold after two months from the date when first
advertised shall be offered to the general public and sold at
public sale to the highest bidders. No person shall be per-
mitted to purchase more than one lot.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and having
been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths
of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the
General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 307.
(House Bill 550)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 2 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne
Arundel County", to be under a new sub-title "Time", said
new section to be known as Section 481A, and to follow
immediately after Section 481 of said Article, authorizing
the County Commissioners to establish daylight saving time
as the official time in Anne Arundel County.
