Company, Incorporated, of Thurmont, and providing
for a referendum.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
11 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Frederick County," sub-title "Thurmont,"
said new section to be known as Section 802A, to follow
immediately after Section 802 of said Article, and to read
as follows:
802A. The Commissioners of Thurmont are hereby
authorized by ordinance to transfer the title of the Town
Hall and Engine House to the Guardian Hose Company,
Incorporated, of Thurmont.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
riot become effective unless it shall first be submitted to
the legally qualified voters of the Town of Thurmont at
municipal election in April, 1947. There shall be printed
on the ballots to be used at said election the title of this
Act, and underneath said title, on separate lines, a square
or box to the right of and opposite the words "For Trans-
fer of Title of Town Hall and Engine House," and a cor-
responding square or box to the right of .and opposite the
words "Against Transfer of Title of Town Hall and Engine
House," so that the voters shall be able tc designate by
a cross mark in the proper square or box his or her decision
for or against said Act. If a majority of the votes cast
shall be "For Transfer of Title of Town Hall and Engine
House," then said Act shall become effective, but if a
majority of the votes cast shall be "Against Transfer of
Title of Town Hall then said Act shall be null and void.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public health and
safety, and having been passed by a yea and nay vote,
supported by three-fifths of all the members elected to
each of the two Houses' of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, the same shall take effect from the date of its
passage.
