CHAPTER 293.
(Senate Bill 321)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 209 of Article 12 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Garrett County,"
sub-title "Grantsville," as said section was amended
by Chapter 685 of the Acts of 1943, relating to the
salaries of the Mayor and Councilmen of Grantsville.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 209 of Article 12 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Garrett
County," sub-title "Grantsville," as said section was
amended by Chapter 685 of the Acts of 1943, be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

209. Said Councilmen shall hold regular meetings on
the first Monday of each and every month, and as much
oftener as the proper conduct of the business of said
town may require, and for their services they shall receive
such compensation as shall be from time to time fixed by
ordinance, the same not to exceed one hundred eighty dol-
lars ($180.00) annually; said Councilmen to regulate by
ordinance the compensation of the Mayor for his services,
the same not to exceed two hundred forty dollars ($240.00)
in any one year.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency measure and necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public health and
safety and having been passed by a yea and nay vote,
supported by three-fifths of all of the members elected
to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 294.
(Senate Bill 331)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 11 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Frederick County," sub-title "Thurmont," said new
section to be known as Section 802A and to follow im-
mediately after Section 802 of said Article, authorizing
the Commissioners of Thurmont to transfer title of
the Town Hall and Engine House to the Guardian Hose
