County, (Flack's Edition, 1943), titled "Dogs", to be known
as Sections 493A, 493B, and 493C, and to follow immediately
after Section 493 of the said Code, to read as follows:
493A. That, in addition to the powers of the County Com-
missioners provided under this title, the County Commis-
sioners are hereby authorized and directed to pay to the col-
lectors of dog tax for their services a fee equal to fifty per
cent (50%) of the dog tax collections actually made to said
collectors.
493B. That, in addition to the powers of the County Com-
missioners provided under this title, the County Commis-
sioners are hereby authorized and empowered to purchase
equipment and employ personnel to establish a system for the
collection of stray dogs and dogs not having tags as required
by law.
493C. That, in addition to the powers of the County Com-
missioners provided under this title, the County Commis-
sioners are hereby authorized and empowered" to establish a
dog pound whereby stray dogs and dogs not having tags
as required by law which have been collected under the pro-
visions of this title may be detained until lawfully returned
to their owners upon payment of licenses and costs, with au-
thority to the County Commissioners to make regulations for
the collection, detention, and release of, stray dogs upon
proper payment of charges, and their disposition in the event
of non-payment.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 246.
(House Bill 294)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 23 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Wicomico County", sub-title "Salisbury", said new section
to be known as Section 293B, and to follow immediately
after Section 293A, authorizing the City of Salisbury to
regulate and license public parking lots within the corporate
limits of the City of Salisbury.
