land in the penal sum of thirty thousand dollars; said bonds
shall be given by each of said registers, respectively, with
condition that he faithfully perform the duties of his office
and account for all funds received under color of his office,
which bond shall be taken and security or securities approved
by the judges of the orphans' court of which he is register
and recorded in the office of the clerk of the circuit court
for the county or Baltimore City of which he is register, and
thereafter filed with the State Comptroller; and every register
shall give a new bond in like manner on or before the first
day of December of the second year following his qualification
in office.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That Sections 466 and
469 of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land and Baltimore City Charter (1938 Edition), title "Bal-
timore City", sub-title "Register of Wills", Section 466 hav-
ing been amended by Chapter 713 of the Acts of 1945, be and
they are hereby repealed.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 199.
(House Bill 59)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 189
of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edi-
tion), title "Public Education", sub-title "Chapter 17. High
Schools", as said section was amended by Chapter 597 of
the Acts of 1945, said section relating to State aid to High
Schools under certain conditions.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 189 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Public Education", sub-title
"Chapter 17. High Schools", as said section was amended by
Chapter 597 of the Acts of 1945, be and the same is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

189. The State Board of Education shall adopt rules and
regulations fixing the ratio of high school teachers to pupils
enrolled and in attendance for high schools varying in size.
