of 1933, providing for the granting of licenses for the sale
of alcoholic beverages in Allegany County; and
WHEREAS, this Act has been presumed to have been valid
and in effect since its enactment in 1933; and
WHEREAS, if the licenses issued under said Chapter 5 of
the Acts of the Special Session of 1933 are not continued
in effect, it will work a great hardship on the licensees
under said Act; and
WHEREAS, it is important that the legislative intent in
providing for such licenses in Allegany County be given
effect and continued in force; now therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That all licenses issued in Allegany County under Chapter
5 of the Acts of the Special Session of 1933 for the sale of
alcoholic beverages be and they are hereby validated and
continued in effect until midnight of April 30th, 1947, as
fully as if said Chapter 5 had been held to be valid.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency measure and necessary
for the public health and safety and having been passed by
a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all the
members elected to each of the two Houses of the General
Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its
passage.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 43 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Health",
sub-title "Practitioners of Medicine", said new section
to be known as Section 139A and to follow immediately
after Section 139 of said Article, to permit any person
to treat human ills in accordance with the tenets of
Christian Science and to make an adequate charge for
any service so performed.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 43
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Health", sub-title "Practitioners of Medicine", said new
section to be known as Section 139A, to follow immediately
after Section 139 of said Article, and to read as follows:
139A. Nothing in this sub-title or elsewhere in the laws
