To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, JOHN B. FUNK, SECRETARY OF STATE, OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 194
of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, as amended
by Ch. 934 of 1945, DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at the Referendum
Election held in the town of North East for the purpose of de-
termining whether the authority should be granted the corpo-
rate body of the town to regulate the showing of motion pic-
tures on Sunday, said Act being Chapter 1077 of the General
Assembly of Maryland of 1945, this Act was submitted to the
voters for their adoption or rejection under the provisions of
the Constitution of the State, said Act being:
An Act relating to the addition of five new sections to
Article 8 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, relating to Sunday movies in Cecil County.
AND I DO CERTIFY, That at the said election held on the 18th
day of March, 1946, 102 votes were cast in favor of the adop-
tion of Chapter 1077 of the Acts of 1945 and 224 votes were
cast against the adoption thereof, said Act has therefore
failed of ratification.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto sub-
