To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, JOHN B. FUNK, SECRETARY OF STATE, OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 194
of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, as amended
by Ch. 934 of 1945, DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at the Referendum
Election held in the Town of Takoma Park for the adoption or
rejection of an Act known as Chapter 754 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland of 1945. said Act was submitted
to the voters for their; adoption or rejection under the pro-
visions of the Constitution of the State, said Act being:

An Act relating to the appointment, duties and retire-
ment of certain employees of the Town of Takoma
Park, and reducing the discounts for prepayment of
taxes.

AND i DO CERTIFY, That at the said election held in May,
1946, 39 votes were cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter
754 of the Acts of 1945 and 419 votes were cast against the
adoption thereof, the said Act has failed of ratification.
