tion providing the clinic and who meets the requirements
regarding experience and training in dental hygiene as set
forth in this sub-title.

26. Any person desiring to practice dental hygiene in
this State, after January 1, 1948, shall procure from the
State Board of Dental Examiners of the State of Mary-
land, a certificate that such a person is entitled to practice
dental hygiene in the State of Maryland. In order to
procure such certificate, the applicant shall submit to the
Board his diploma from an institution for the education
of dental hygienists, which institution is approved by the
Board, and such other credentials as are hereinafter re-
quired, together with an application on forms which shall
be prescribed and furnished by the Board. Each such
applicant shall pay to the Board Ten Dollars ($10.00)
at the time of making such application for examination
as often as he shall make application therefor.

27. When applying to the Board for examination, the
applicant shall submit his credentials at least twenty (20)
days prior to the examination date. The applicant shall:

A. Be a graduate of a school for dental hygienists that
is approved by the Board and that requires a course of
training of not less than two (2) terms of not less than
eight (8) months each, provided however, that the Board
may at its discretion admit to its examinations candidates
who are graduates of hygienist schools approved by the
Board giving a course of not less than one (1) academic
year, who completed their courses at least five years
before June 1, 1947, and who have practiced dental
hygiene continuously and satisfactorily in the interim.

B. Be of good moral character and at least twenty (20)
years of age.

C. Be a citizen of the United States.

28. (a) The Board shall give an examination twice
each year at a suitable place in Maryland to be selected
by the Board, to all persons who may desire to qualify to
practice dental hygiene in this State. This examination
shall be at such time, under such conditions and of such
kind or character as the Board in its sole discretion may
determine.

(b) A certificate of qualification to practice dental
hygiene in Maryland shall be issued to candidates who
pass the Board's examination satisfactorily. Such cer-
