2098 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 876

Printed on the ballots shall also appear tie words ''For
Sale of Plant", "For Lease of Plant" or "For Connection of
Plant", as the case may be, with a blank square opposite
the right of said words, and immediately thereunder shall
be the following words, "Against Sale of Plant", "Against
Lease of Plant", or "Against Connection of Plant", as the
case may be, with a blank square opposite the right of said
words. And the voter shall indicate his choice by making
a cross (X) in one of said blank squares. And the Town
Commissioners of Centreville shall appoint the necessary
officers to conduct the election with the usual pay for such
duties as in regular town elections.

If an affirmative vote of two-thirds (2/3) of the qualified
voters of the Town of Centreville (this shall not be taken to
mean two-thirds (2/3) of those voting) cast upon said ques-
tion shall be "For Sale of Plant", "For Lease of Plant" or
"For Connection of Plant", as the case may be, then this
Act shall be of full force and effect; but if an affirmative vote
of two-thirds (2/3) of the qualified voters aforesaid shall
be "Against Sale of Plant", "Against Lease of Plant" or
"Against Connection of Plant, as the case may be, then this
Act shall be void and of no effect, and the said Town Com-
missioners shall not sell, lease or connect said municipal
plant, and any contract in the premises shall become null
and void and of no effect.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1. 1947.

CHAPTER 876.
(House Bill 855)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Chapter
451 of the Acts of 1943 relative to the authority of the
Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Chapter 451 of the Acts of 1943 be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission is hereby
authorized and directed to adopt, formulate and pro-
mulgate rules and regulations for the construction, installa-
tion, and equipment of gas fixtures, devices, and connections
