SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

AN ACT to add four new sections to Article 14 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Howard County", sub-title "Fire Protection", said new
sections to be known as Sections 198E, 198F, 198G and
198H, and to follow immediately after Section 198D of
said Article, prohibiting smoking in certain places and at
certain times in Howard County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That four new sections be, and they are hereby added
to Article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Howard County", sub-title "Fire Pro-
tection", said new sections to be known as Sections 198E,
198F, 198G and 198H, and to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 198D of said Article and to read as follows:
198E. No person shall smoke, carry or have any lighted
match, pipe, cigar or cigarette in any theatre, school audi-
torium or other building having an aggregate area of two
thousand square feet, and customarily used as a public hall,
while the same is actually being used by the public.
198F. The owner or lessee of every such building as de-
scribed in the preceding section shall cause to be erected at
least two signs containing the words, "NO SMOKING".
198G. The owner or lessee, or his duly authorized agent,
of any such building where smoking is prohibited, is hereby
given the right to eject, or have ejected, by force if neces-
sary, any person from their establishment who refuses to
comply with the "No Smoking'' regulations of this Act.
198H. Any owner or lessee violating the provisions of this
Act shall, upon conviction, be deemed guilty of a misde-
meanor, and be subject to a fine of not less than Five Dollars
($5.00) or more than Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) ; any per-
son violating the provisions of Section 198E of this Act shall,
