manner affect any other provision in this Charter as to the
assessment, collection, or sale for non-payment of taxes, and
all taxes, notwithstanding the provisions of this section, shall
be collected, except as herein specifically provided for, and
all proceedings for sales for the nonpayment thereof shall be
conducted, at the times and in the manner provided for in
the other sections of this Charter.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
158 of Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Montgomery County", sub-
title "Circuit Court", sub-heading ''Clerk of Court", so as
to authorize and direct the Clerk of the Circuit Court for
Montgomery County to cause the set of index books now
installed in said Clerk's office, relating to the Land Records
of said County, beginning with the year 1928 and closing
with the year 1946, to be re-classified, regrouped by sur-
name, and re-indexed according to the system now installed
so as to facilitate the examination of said indexes and the
work of making accurate entries therein; and provide that
the total cost of such re-classification of said Land Records,
together with the cost of the necessary books, racks, shelves,
supplies, and equipment therefor, shall be paid out of the
excess fees of the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court
for Montgomery County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 158 of Article 16 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Montgomery
County", sub-title "Circuit Court", sub-heading "Clerk of
Court", be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

158. The Clerk of the Circuit Court for Montgomery
