immediately after Section 377 AE of said Article as enacted
by Chapter 1013 of the Acts of 1945, and to read as follows:
377 AF. No resolution of the County Commissioners of
Anne Arundel County regulating, licensing or permitting the
operation of any contest, meet or event in Anne Arundel
County, in which contest, meet or event any animals are
used, or which depends upon the result of the running
of any animals adopted pursuant to the powers vested in the
County Commissioners to regulate, authorize or license con-
tests, meets and events as set forth in Sections 377 A, 377 AB,
377 AC, 377 AD, and 377 AE of Article 2 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), shall be
so adopted or passed if the said resolution shall undertake
to regulate, authorize or license the running of any horse
trotting or harness race, provided, however, that nothing here-
in contained shall preclude the adoption of any resolution
regulating, authorizing, or licensing any horse show or ex-
hibition at which horse racing is not permitted.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and having
been passed upon by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of
the General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 810.
(House Bill 663)
AN ACT to add two new sections to Article 43 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Health",
sub-title "Hospitals", said new sections to be known as
Section 496L and 496'M, and to follow immediately after
Section 496K of said Article, as said section was enacted
by Chapter 210 of the Acts of 1945, designating the State
Board of Health as the sole agency to represent the State
for the purpose of Part C, Public Law 725 of the 79th
Congress of the United States authorizing grants to States
for construction and reconstruction of hospitals and health
centers, and creating an Advisory Council on Hospital
Construction to advise in connection therewith.
