hereby authorized to appoint a three-man Commission to de-
sign and distribute to Maryland Veterans of World War II,
who honorably served their Country and State, a medal hon-
oring and commemorating such service. The medals shall
bear a facsimile of the Seal of the State and a ribbon bearing
the State colors. A service ribbon shall also be provided with
the medals. The Commission shall prepare a report which
shall include the contemplated design of the medal, the num-
ber of veterans to receive same, and a proposed plan for
manufacture and distribution of the said medal, together with
the estimated entire cost of the project. Said report shall be
submitted to the Governor for such action as he deems ad-
visable.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

AN ACT to add two new sections to Article 2 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne
Arundel County", sub-title "County Commissioners", said
two new sections to be known as Sections 242A and 242B, to
follow immediately after Section 242 of said Article, enlarg-
ing the powers and relating to the duties of the County
Commissioners of Anne Arundel County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That two new sections be and they are hereby added to
Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title "County
Commissioners", said new sections to be known as Sections
242A and 242B, to follow immediately after Section 242 of
said Article, and to read as follows:
242A. Prom and after January 1, 1949, any public
local law of Anne Arundel County to the contrary notwith-
standing, the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County
are hereby empowered and directed to fix and determine the
salary and compensation of every officer, agent or employee of
said County, whose salary or compensation theretofore has
been fixed and set by a public local law of said County.
