AN ACT to repeal Chapter 394 of the Acts of 1931 as
amended, and to direct the Howard County Metropolitan
Commission to assume the bonds and other obligations
issued under said Chapter 394 of the Acts of 1931, as
amended, and to provide for the payment thereof, and to
direct the Board of County Commissioners of Howard
County to transfer to said Metropolitan Commission all
moneys which it may have collected for the payment of
interest and principal of said bonds and other obligations.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Chapter 394 of the Acts of 1931, as amended by
Chapter 3 of the Acts of 1935, be and the same is hereby
repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Howard County
Metropolitan Commission as established by Chapter 991 of
the Acts of 1943, as amended by Chapters 605, 606, 607, 608
and 609 of the Acts of 1945, be and it is hereby authorized
and directed to assume the obligations, bonds, notes and
other indebtednesses incurred or issued by the Board of
County Commissioners of Howard County under the pro-
visions of said Chapter 394 of the Acts of 1931, as amended;
and the said Howard County Metropolitan Commission be
and it is further authorized and directed to cause to be
levied such taxes and charges, in accordance with the pro-
visions of Sections G and 8 of Chapter 991 of the Acts of
1943, as amended, as may be necessary to provide for the
payment of the interest and principal of the said obligations,
bonds, notes and other indebtednesses incurred or issued by
the said Board of County Commissioners under the provisions
of said Chapter 394 of the Acts of 1931, as amended, in the
area benefited by the improvements established under Chap-
ter 394 of the Acts of 1931, as amended, provided, however,
that nothing in this section shall be construed to require
the said Howard County Metropolitan Commission to estab-
lish a new sub-district from said area.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the Board of
County Commissioners of Howard County be and it is hereby
authorized and directed to transfer to the said Howard
County Metropolitan Commission all moneys which it may
have collected for the payment of the interest and principal
of the bonds issued under the provisions of Chapter 394 of
