WM. PRESTON LANE, JR., GOVERNOR. 1753

The State of Maryland shall pay, as hereinafter provided,
out of the General State School Fund to the Treasurer of the
County Board of Education and to the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore two-thirds of the annual salaries
of the supervisors of pupil personnel I or II and of visiting
teachers required by this section.

The County Board of Education shall provide suitable in-
dividual means of transportation for the supervisor of pupil
personnel I or II and the visiting teacher (s) when employed.

County Boards of Education may pay an additional amount
to the supervisor of pupil personnel I or II and to the visiting
teacher (s) if employed, but the State shall not share in this
additional payment. County Boards of Education are free to
employ as many additional visiting teachers as in their judg-
ment are necessary, subject to the approval of the State Super-
intendent of Schools, but the State shall not share in the pay-
ment of their salaries.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 709.
(House Bill 161)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
474 of the Harford County Code (1942 Edition), being
Article 13 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Harford County", sub-title "Taxes and County Trea-
surer", as said section was amended by Chapter 998 of the
Acts of 1945, relating to the compensation of the Deputy
Treasurer of Harford County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted ty the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 474 of the Harford County Code (1942
Edition), being Article 13 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, title "Harford County", sub-title "Taxes and
County Treasurer", as said section was amended by Chapter
998 of the Acts of 1945, be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

474. The Treasurer shall appoint a Deputy Treasurer, who
shall give such bond to the Treasurer as the said Treasurer
may require, and shall receive an annual salary as such
