(1).

(a) Any member in service may retire upon written appli-
cation to the Board of Trustees setting forth at what time, not
less than thirty days nor more than ninety days subsequent to
the execution and filing thereof, he desires to be retired, pro-
vided that such member at the time so specified for his retire-
ment shall have attained the age of sixty (60) and not-
withstanding that during such period of notification he may
have separated from service.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 696.
(House Bill 16)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-sections
(1A), (4), (6), (7) and (7) (b) of Section 7 of Article 73B
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943 Supplement), title
"Pensions", sub-title "Service Retirement Benefits", and
Sub-sections (1) (a), (1) (b) and (1) (e) of Section 10 of
said Article, sub-title "Annuity Savings Fund", making the
provisions of said section conform to the Act reducing the
age at which members of the State Employees' Retirement
System may be retired.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-sections (1A), (4), (6), (7) and (7) (b) of
Section 7 of Article 73B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1943 Supplement), title "Pensions", sub-title "Service Retire-
ment Benefits", and Sub-sections (1) (a), (1) (b) and (1) (e)
of Section 10 of said Article, sub-title "Annuity Savings Fund",
be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

(1A) Any member in service who is not an elected or ap-
pointed official of the State and who attains the age of seventy
(70) years on or before July 1, 1947, and any retired employee
who was not an elected or appointed official of the State, and
