SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That the County
Commissioners of the several counties of the State and the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore are hereby respec-
tively directed to levy the State taxes for the years 1948
and 1949 at One and One-tenth cents (l.lc) on each One
Hundred Dollars ($100) of assessable property, and for
the year 1950 and all succeeding years until all certificates
issued under the authority of this Act are redeemed, three
and one-half cents (3 1/2c) on each One Hundred Dollars
($100) of assessable property, to be collected according
to law, to meet the interest on the amount of said certifi-
cates outstanding, and also to meet and redeem so much
of the principal in each of said years as may be repre-
sented by certificates redeemable in each year, respectively.

SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 695.
(House Bill 15)

AN ACT to repeal Sub-section (1) (a) of Section 7 of Article
73B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943 Supplement),
title "Pensions", sub-title "Service Retirement Benefit", as
said sub-section was amended by Chapter 701 of the Acts of
1945, and Sub-section (1) (c) of said Section 7, as said sub-
section was enacted by Chapter 745 of the Acts of 1945, and
to enact in lieu thereof a new sub-section, to be known as
Sub-section (1) (a) of Section 7, and to follow immediately
after Section 6 of said Article, reducing the age at which a
member of the State Employees' Retirement System may
be retired.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-section (1) (a) of Section 7 of Article 73B of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943 Supplement), title
"Pensions", sub-title "Service Retirement Benefit", as said
sub-section was amended by Chapter 701 of the Acts of 1945,
and Sub-section (1) (c) of said Section 7, as said sub-section
was enacted by Chapter 745 of the Acts of 1945, be and the
same are hereby repealed, and that a new sub-section be and it
is hereby enacted in lieu thereof, said new sub-section to be
known as Sub-section (1) (a) of Section 7, to follow imme-
diately after Section 6 of said Article, and to read as follows:
