salaries of said Clerk and said Attorney to be paid in
equal quarterly installments by the County Commissioners
of Wicomico County; provided, however, that in the event
of special elections or special services rendered the said
County Commissioners shall, at the request and recom-
mendation of the Supervisors of Elections, allow such
additional compensation as they may deem commensurate
with such special services rendered.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall
take effect June 1, 1947.

AN ACT to add seven new sections to Article 19 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "St. Mary's County," to be under sub-title "Zoning,"
said new sections to be known as Sections 218 to 224
inclusive, and to follow immediately after Section 217
of said Article, as added by Chapter 973 of the Acts of
1943, authorizing and empowering the County Commis-
sioners of St. Mary's County to adopt a comprehensive
plan of zoning regulations and restrictions affecting the
erection, contsruction, reconstruction, alteration, repair
and use of buildings, structures and land within said
County; authorizing and empowering the said County
Commissioners to adopt, within said County, regula-
tions and restrictions affecting the use of land and build-
ings for trade, industry, residence and other purposes,
the height of buildings and other structures, the size
of yards, courts and other open spaces and to regulate
all matters pertaining to the disposal of waste, garbage
sewerage; to provide for appeals to the Circuit Court
of St. Mary's County; to provide penalties for the vio-
lation of regulations and restrictions; to provide for
the levying in each zone, and amount for the adminis-
tering this Act; to provide for injunctions in certain
cases.
SECTlON 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That seven new sections be and they are hereby added to
Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County," to be under a
