CHAPTER 672.
(Senate Bill 435)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
104 of Article 5 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Calvert County", sub-
title "Court House Lot", restricting the purposes for
which the portion or portions of the Court House Lot
sold or leased by the County Commissioners of Calvert
County may be used.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland.
That Section 104 of Article 5 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Calvert County",
sub-title "Court House Lot", be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

104. The said County Commissioners shall include in
any agreement, lease or deed for the said lots, conditions
setting forth the kind, style and character of the buildings
to be erected and maintained on the said ground, the loca-
tion of the same and the purposes for which they may
be used by the said lessees, grantee, or their assigns, and
subject to such terms and limitations as may be provided
therein; provided, however, that said lots shall not be used
in the conduct of any mercantile business or for the
erection of stores, amusement halls or establishments and
the like, except that any building erected thereon devoted
exclusively to the providing of office space shall be deemed
a proper use of said lots.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public health, morals,
safety and welfare, and well being, passed by a yea and
nay vote supported by three-fifths of all of the members
elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly,
the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.
