term for which they have heretofore been appointed and
their successors are duly appointed and qualified pursuant
to the provisions of this Section, and the Commissioners
thereafter appointed shall serve as members of said
Board for the term of five years. In the case of any
vacancy or vacancies, whether from expiration of term,
resignation, death or otherwise, the Governor shall appoint
a successor from a list of pharmacists of three times the
number of vacancies to be filled, said list to be submitted
by the Maryland Pharmaceutical Association. The said
Commissioners shall, after notification of their appoint-
ment each subscribe to the oath prescribed by the
Constitution of the State of Maryland.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 628.
(Senate Bill 257)

AN ACT to add thirteen new sections to Article 97 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Weights and Measures", to be under sub-title "State
Apple Commission", said new Sections to be known as
Sections 66 to 78, inclusive, and to follow immediately
after Section 65 of said Article, creating the Maryland
State Apple Commission and prescribing its duties and
powers, and imposing an excise tax on certain apples,
and providing for the disposition of the proceeds from
such tax.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland.
That thirteen new sections be and they are hereby added
to Article 97 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Weights and Measures", to be under sub-
title "State Apple Commission", said new Sections to be
known as Sections 66 to 78, inclusive, and to follow imme-
diately after Section 65 of said Article, and all to read as
follows:

66. (Definitions). As used in this sub-title:

(a) The word "Commission" shall mean the Maryland
State Apple Commission.
