SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 554.
(Senate Bill 338)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
174 of the Harford County Code (1942 Edition), being
Article 13 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Harford County", sub-title "Cir-
cuit Court", as said section was amended by Chapter
568 of the Acts of 1943, increasing the compensation of
the Court Stenographer of Harford County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 174 of the Harford County Code (1942
Edition), being Article 13 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Harford County",
sub-title "Circuit Court", as said section was amended by
Chapter 568 of the Acts of 1943, be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

174. The Circuit Court for Harford County is hereby
authorized and directed to appoint a Court Stenographer,
who shall be a sworn officer of said Court, and said Sten-
ographer so appointed shall receive a salary of Three Thou-
sand ($3,000) Dollars per annum, to be paid in equal
monthly installments as the jurors and bailiffs of said Court
are now paid. In consideration of the increased salary pro-
vided to the Court Stenographer under this section, the said
stenographer shall without any additional compensation,
act as secretary to the Court. He shall also act as librarian
for the Bar Library of Harford County, collecting all
amounts due the said library and paying the amounts due
by it for the purchase of books and supplies, and to en-
force such regulations as the Court may prescribe govern-
ing the use of the books in said library.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1947.
