SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Prince George's County (Flack's Edition, 1943), as enacted
by Chapter 287 of the Acts of 1922, be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
15. The County Commissioners shall annually levy a sum
of money sufficient to pay the bailiffs of said county Five
Dollars ($5.00) each per day as compensation for their
services, and a certificate signed by the Clerk of the Cir-
cuit Court and expressing the number of days any bailiff
shall have served and the sum due for such service, shall be
sufficient authority to them to pay the amount therein speci-
fied ; and the balance, if any, remaining at the end of the year
shall be applied by them to the use of the county.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and having
been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths
of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the
General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of
its passage.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 239
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County
(Flack's Edition, 1943), as enacted by Chapter 478 of the
Acts of 1920, to provide for an increase in the compensation
of Criers of the Circuit Court for Prince George's County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 239 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Prince George's County (Flack's Edition, 1943), as enacted by
Chapter 478 of the Acts of 1920, be, and the same is hereby,
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
239. The Crier of the Circuit Court shall receive Five
Dollars ($5.00) per day for every day his presence may be
required and is in attendance on the Circuit Court, and this
amount shall be in lieu of all other compensation and fees.
