shall lie within the sound discretion of the County Com-
missioners of Charles County. However, should said County
Commissioners, in the exercise of their sound discretion,
decide to release said bond issue, then any and all addi-
tions, alterations and improvements made with the pro-
ceeds therefrom to the school buildings and in the manner
aforementioned shall be subject to the approval of a Build-
ing Committee, the members of which shall be Thomas
B. R. Mudd, Calvin Compton, Milton Somers, Mrs. Xavia
Garner and Mrs. Roland Bateman. In case of the inability
to serve of any of said persons, for any reason, the County
Commissioners of Charles County shall appoint another
person to fill such vacancy.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 538.
(Senate Bill 293)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 7 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Carroll County", sub-title "County Commissioners",
said new section to be known as Section 34 and to follow
immediately after Section 43A thereof, said Section 43A
having been enacted by Chapter 173 of the Acts of 1943,
relating to levy for public health purposes and for the
maintenance of the War Memorial Medical Center in
Carroll County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 7
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Carroll County", sub-title "County Com-
missioners", said new section to be known as Section 44
and to follow immediately after Section 43A thereof, said
Section 43A having been enacted by Chapter 173 of the
Acts of 1943, and to read as follows:

44. The County Commissioners of Carroll County are
hereby authorized and directed to accept, in fee simple,
title to such Carroll County War Memorial Medical Center
as the Carroll County War Memorial Committee may erect
