of Officers", sub-title "Bailiffs", as said section was
amended by Chapter 646 of the Acts of 1945, and to
enact a new section in lieu thereof, said new section
to be known as Section 11 and to follow immediately
after Section 10 of said Article, relating to the com-
pensation of court bailiffs and criers in the several
counties.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 11 of Article 36 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "Fees of Officers", sub-
title "Bailiffs", as said section was amended by Chapter
646 of the Acts of 1945, be and it is hereby repealed, and
that a new section, to be known as Section 11, to follow
immediately after Section 10 of said Article, be and it is
hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to read as follows:
11. (a) Every bailiff attending the circuit courts in
the counties in this State shall be entitled to the compen-
sation hereinafter prescribed for each day he shall attend
said court, except as otherwise herein provided.
Bailiffs in Charles and St. Mary's Counties shall each
receive four dollars ($4.00) per day.
Bailiffs in Allegany, Caroline, Cecil, Dorchester, Howard,
Kent, Prince George's, Washington and Worcester Counties
shall each receive five dollars ($5.00) per day.
Bailiffs in Anne Arundel County shall each receive seven
dollars ($7.00) per day.
Bailiffs in Calvert County shall receive one hundred and
twenty-five ($125.00) dollars per year.
Bailiffs in Cecil County shall each receive such compensa-
tion as the County Commissioners shall determine, but in
no event shall they be paid less than five dollars ($5.00)
per day.
Bailiffs in Garrett, Queen Anne's and Somerset Counties
shall each receive such compensation as the County Com-
missioners of said Counties shall determine, but not ex-
ceeding five dollars ($5.00) per day.
Bailiffs in Baltimore and Frederick Counties shall each
receive such compensation as the Court of said Counties
shall determine.
Bailiffs and Criers in Harford County shall each receive
such compensation as the court shall determine but not
exceeding a total of twenty-five hundred dollars
($2,500.00) per year for all bailiffs and criers in said
county.
