shall be removable at the pleasure of the County Commis-
sioners and shall receive as compensation for his services as
such clerk such annual salary as the County Commissioners
shall, by unanimous vote, agree upon, not to exceed two thou-
sand dollars to be levied for by the said Commissioners as is
usual in such cases, and payable monthly by said Commis-
sioners, and he shall receive no extra or other compensation or
fees of any kind for the duties now imposed upon himself by
law, by the provisions of this Act or otherwise, which may
properly appertain to his office. He shall upon application
exhibit the books, papers, and levies in his office and make
certified copies or extracts thereof for any person demanding
the same, and charge for the same, for the use of the county,
such fees as are chargeable by the Clerk of the Circuit Court
for similar work, and such copies, under the seal of the County
Commissioners, shall be evidence to the same extent as the
originals would be if produced in proceedings in court or other-
wise; all fees received from this source, however, shall be ac-
counted for to the County Commissioners by the said clerk.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and having
been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths
of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the
General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 79.
(House Bill 239)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 21 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Talbot County", sub-title "Trappe", said new section to
be known as Section 536 1/2 and to follow immediately after
Section 536 of said Article, authorizing the Commissioners
to make a levy and appropriation to the Trappe Fire Com-
pany.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
21 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Talbot County", sub-title "Trappe", said new
