of 1945, relating to the amounts which may be appro-
priated by the Mayor and Council of Hagerstown and
by the County Commissioners of Washington County
to The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 411 and 412 of Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Washington County", sub-title "Hagerstown", sub-head-
ing "Museum of Arts", be and they are hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, and that Sections 686
and 687 of said Article, title "Washington County", sub-
title "Museum of Arts", as said sections were amended
by Chapter 44 of the Acts of 1945, be and the same are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and
all to read as follows:

411. The said Mayor and Council of Hagerstown are
hereby authorized and empowered in their discretion to
enter into contracts with the said The Washington County
Museum of Fine Arts to contribute not more than a total
of five thousand dollars per annum for the care and main-
tenance of the said The Washington County Museum of
Fine Arts; and in event the facilities of the Museum for
the use of the public are increased by the addition to the
present building of one or more wings at a cost of at least
One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00), then and
in that event upon the completion of the said addition the
Mayor and Council of Hagerstown are authorized and
empowered in their discretion to enter into a contract with
the said Museum whereby they shall contract to contribute
annually in perpetuity the total sum of Ten Thousand Dol-
lars ($10,000.00) per annum for the care and maintenance
of the said The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts.

412. The said Mayor and Council of Hagerstown are
hereby, authorized and empowered to levy and collect
annually, on the assessable property of said Hagerstown
the sums required under the provisions of the aforegoing
Section.

686. The County Commissioners of Washington
County are hereby authorized and empowered to enter into
a contract with The Washington County Museum of Fine
Arts, whereby they shall contract to contribute annually
in perpetuity the sum of Five Thousand Dollars
($5,000.00) per annum for the care and maintenance of
the said The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts;
and in event the facilities of the Museum for the use of
