Hepbron, Hill, Humphreys, Joyce, Lancaster, McLane,
Miller, Newcomer, Steiner, Stump, Sulivane, Welfley, Wil-
son—22.

The Senate proceeded to the consideration of the

House Joint Resolution to give effect to the electoral vote
of Maryland.

On motion by Mr. Gorman,

The unfinished business being the above resolution, was
temporarily postponed.

On motion by Mr. Gorman,

The rules were suspended so as to give a third reading
this day to

House bill to appropriate a sum of money to pay the claims
of J. Q. Codling, Codling & Loane, and George A. Frederick,
for work done and materials furnished at the House of Cor-
rection.

By yeas and nays, as follows :

AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. President, Joyce,

Combs, of Allegany, Lancaster,

Combs, of St. Mary's, McLane,

Cooper, Miller,
