Said bill was then read a second time.

Mr. Lee from a Select Committee, submitted the following
REPORT.

The Joint Committee of the Senate and House of Dele-
gates of Maryland, appointed to wait upon His Excellency,
to ascertain whether he had any further communication to
make to the General Assembly, respectfully report that they
waited upon him as instructed, and ascertained that His
Excellency bad no further communication to make, except
Executive business, upon which subject he proposed com-
municating immediately with the Senate.

On the part of the House.
Which was read.

On motion by Mr. Hepbron, it was

Ordered, That James P. Brays, Clerk to the Committee
on the Library, and who has served during the session as
Assistant Librarian, be paid his per-diem from the beginning
of the Session.

On motion by Mr. Cooper, it was

Ordered, That the Chairman of the Committee on Claims,
be and he is hereby directed to pay to Edward Powers, Jan-
itor of the Senate, the sum of fifteen dollars, for washing
towels, &c., during the present Session.

On motion by Mr. Dennis,

The Senate proceeded to the consideration of House Joint
Resolutions, authorizing Judicial proceedings to give effect
to the Electoral Vote of Maryland.
