Mr. Stump submitted the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

March 30, 1878.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

As the present session of the General Assembly will term-
inate by Constitutional limitation on Manday, April 1st,
Midnight, we have the honor to inform you tbat we have in-
structed our Secretary in accordance with the 54th rule of
the Senate, to communicate that fact to His Excellency the
Governor, for the purpose of ascertaining whether he has
any further communication to make.

AUGUSTUS GASSAWAY,

Secretary of the Senate.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of
Delegates.

House bill to give the sanction of the General Assembly
to the bequest of Hugh Kennedy, to the Presbyterian Church,
at Hagerstown,

Was read the third time, and passed by yeas and nays as
follows, with proposed amendments:
