Mr. Gorman from the Committee on Finance reported fa-
vorably,

House bill to regulate the levy for State purposes for the
year 1878 and subsequent years, with the following proposed
amendments:

Section 1, line 4, after word "and," strikeout "one-half,"
and insert "three-fourths."

Section 1, line 8, after words "a tax of," strikeout "three-
fourths of," and insert "one."

Which were adopted.

Said bill as amended was then read a second time.
On motion by Mr. McLane,

The rules were suspended so as to give a third reading
this day to said bill,
