The Secretary of S'a'e appeared, and delivered the follow-
ing communication from the Executive :

STATE OF MARYLAND,

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,

Annapolis, March 28th, 1878.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

I herewith transmit to you a list of the titles of Senate
bills, which have been approved and signed since 25th inst.

JOHN LEE CARROLL.

No. 134. An Act to incorporate the East New Market
Navigation and "Wharf Company.

No. 135. An Act to appropriate a sum of money to pay J.
Frank Ford, Clerk of the Circuit Court for St. Mary's County,
for services rendered to the State.

No. 136. An Act to repeal Section one hundred and thirty-
eight, of Article sixteen, of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Chancery," as enacted by Chapter four hundred and
twenty-eight, of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, passed at the January Session, 1874, as enacted by
Chapter three hundred and seventy, of the Acts of the Gen-
eral Assembly, passed at the January Session, in the year,
eighteen hundred and seventy, and to re-enact the said
section with amendments.

No. 137. An Act to authorize and empower the Governor
to appoint an additional Justice of the Peace in Second Dis-
trict, of Queen Anne's County

No. 138. An Act supplementary to an Actof November Ses-
sion, 1812, Chapter one hundred and fifty-nine,entitled an Act
for founding an University in the City or precincts of Balti-
more, by the name of "The University of Maryland," and to
authorize the regents of the University of Maryland to apply
a portion of the property by said University to the general
uses of said University, and to sell said property and apply
the proceeds to the general uses of the University.

No. 139. An Act to repeal the forty-fourth Section of Ar-
ticle twenty-four, of the Code of Public General Laws, en-
titled "Conveyancing," sub-title "Bills of Sale," and to re-
enact the same with amendments.

No. 140. An Act to provide for the appointment of an ad-
ditional Justice of the Peace for Election District No. 3, in
Harford County.
