Which was read.
Mr. Gorman (by unanimous consent) called up the

Senate bill to amend the Act of the present session, enti-
tled an Act to repeal the Act of 1876, Chapter 173, regula-
ting the working and ventilation of coal mines, and for the
appointment of an Inspector of said mines,

Was read the time, and passed by yeas and nays, as fol-
lows :

AFFIRMATIVE.

Bannon, Humphreys,

Combs, of Allegany, Joyce,

Combs, of St. Mary's, Lancaster,

Cooper, Lee,

Dennis, McLane,

Ford, Miller,

Franklin, Newcomer,

Freeman. Steiner,

Gorman, Sulivane—22.
NEGATIVE—None.

Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates,

Mr. Freeman, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,

House bill to authorize the Commissioners of Baltimore
County to settle the claim of Augustus F. Dawes.

Which was read the second time.
Also, favorably,

House bill to empower the Board of School Commissioners
of Baltimore County to pay R. M. G. Trainer for services ren-
dered as teacher,

With the following proposed amendments :

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

In first line of title, after the word "the," insert the word
"present."

Section 1, line 1, at the end of line insert the word "pres-
ent."

Which were adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time.
