822 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 28,

Examination continued:—I have the will of Morris Mc-
Donough in my possession. It was filed in the office of the
Register of Wills of Charles County, February 14th, 1804,
(will produced and read.) (Chapter 134, Act passed January
20th, 1808, entitled "an Act to vest certain powers in the Or-
phans' Court of Charles County, and for other purposes,"
read.)

Examination continued:—"I have examined the records in
my office, and find that no reports have been made by the
Trustees of the fund for 20 years past. I have no idea what
was the amount of the original fund; I understand that many
losses have been sustained by bad investments. There is
now about $9,000 on hand, it is good hands, although the
children, for whom it was intended, have received for many
years no benefit from it. When I was a lad, at Primary
School, the teacher received some additional compensation
from this fund. The grave of Morris McDonough is kept in
a lamentable condition."

Adjourned.
Which was read.

Mr. Lancaster moved to substitute the minority report of
said Committee for the report of the majority.

Which was determined in the negative by yeas and nays
as follows:
