titled "An Act to provide for the completion of the Chesa-
peake and Ohio Canal, to Cumberland, and for other pur-
poses, " in so far as said Act relates to putting and keeping
the said Chesapeake and Ohio Canal in good condition and
repair, and to make the said Canal an effective means of trans-
portation.

Which was read the first time, ordered to be printed, and
re-committed to the Committee on Finance.

Mr. Sulivane, from a Select Committee, reported favora-
bly.

Senate bill entitled an Act to define and preserve the in-
ner harbor of Cambridge, and Cambridge Creek, in Dorchester
County.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Lee, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 2, of Article 7,
of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Carroll County, "
sub-title "Alms House, " and to amend and re-enact the
same.

Which was read the first time.

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the payment of
the salary due the Secretary of the State Board of Health for
the year ending December 3lst, 1877,

Was considered and ordered to be printed.

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the further ex-
tension of the charter of the Frederick Town Savings Institu-
tion, supplementary to an Act passed at January Session,
1858, Chapter 162, entitled a "further supplement to an Act
to incorporate the Frederick Town Savings Institution passed
at December Session, 1826, March 9, 1827, Chapter 189, "
repealing the first Section thereof and re-enacting the same
with amendments.

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as
follows:
