Mr. Gorman, from Committee on Corporations, reported
favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of the
Town of Laurel, in Prince George's County.

Which was read the second time.
Also, favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to change the corporate name of
the Stock Exchange of the City of Baltimore, and to grant
additional powers to said corporation.

Which was read the second time.
Also, favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to extend an Act entitled an
Act to incorporate the Wither's Mining Company, passed at
December Session, 1857, Chapter 306, and the Act to alter
and amend said original Act of Incorporation, passed at
January Session, 1870, Chapter 227, for the period of 30
years, and to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
2, of said last named Act,

With the following proposed amendment:

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Amend by adding an additional section:

"Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That nothing in this Act, or
in the Act passed at the December Session, of 1847, Chapter
306, entitled an Act to incorporate the Wither's Mining
Company, shall be so construed as to permit the said
Wither's Mining Company to construct or subscribe for the
stock or bonds of any Railroad Company, other than one
leading from the lands of said Company to some point on the
Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, or the Cumberland and Penn-
sylvania Railroad, or the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal, at
Cumberland."

Also amend by making Section 3 Section 4, to read as fol-
lows :

"Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage, and the General Assembly
hereby reserves the right to alter or amend at pleasure."

Which was adopted.
