NIGHT SESSION.

TUESDAY, March 26th, 1878.

Senate met at 8 P. M.,

Present at roll call the following Senators :

Messrs. President, Bannon, Combs, of Allegany, Combs,
of St. Mary's, Cooper, Dennis, Ford, Franklin, Freeman,
Garey, Gorman, Hepbron, Hill, Humphreys, Joyce, Lee,
McLane, Miller, Newcomer, Steiner, Sulivane, Welfley—22.

On motion by Mr. Lee,

The House bill to repeal Sections 1 and 7, of the Act of
1872, Chapter 36, entitled an Act to add a new Article to the
Code of Public General Laws, regulating the inspection of
Tobacco and to re-enact Section 1, by abolishing the office of
Supervisor,

Which had been heretofore referred to the Committee on
Agriculture, was changed to the Committee on Inspections.

Mr. Cooper submitted the following message :

BT THE SENATE,

March 26th, 1878.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We respectfully ask your Honorable Body to return to the
Senate for further consideration, the House bill "entitled an.
Act to provide for a monument to the memory of the late
Hon. Thomas G. Pratt."

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of
Delegates.

Mr, Gorman, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Chapter 439, of the
Acts of the General Assembly of 1874, entitled an Act to
regulate the issuing of licenses for the sale of spirituous and
fermented liquors in this State, and to re-enact the same with,
amendments, so as to exempt Montgomery County from the
provisions of said Act.

Which was read the first time.
