House bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 11 and 12, of
Article 56, of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Li-
censes," sub-title "Brokers," and to re-enact Section 11, so
as to read as follows.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance.

Also, delivered

House bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the
County Commissioners of Allegany County to correct the as-
sessment made under Chapter 260, of the Laws of Maryland,
of 1876, on the shares of stock of the Cumberland Cast-Steel
Manufacturing Company.

Which was read the first time, and referred to Senators
Combs, of Allegany, Peter and Steiner.

On motion by Mr. Lancaster,
At 10.45, P, M., the Senate adjourned.

MONDAY, March 25th, 1878.
Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Prayer by the Eev. B. S. Higbley.
Present at roll call the following Senators :

Messrs. Bannon, Combs, of Allegany, Combs, ofSt. Mary's,
Cooper, Dennis, Ford, Franklin, Freeman, Hepbron, Hill,
Humphreys, Joyce, Lancaster, Lee, McLane, Miller, Steiner,
Stump, Sulivane, Wilson—20.

The President of the Senate being absent from the seat of
Government, the Senate proceeded to the election of a Presi-
dent pro tem.

When,

On motion by Mr. McLane,
Mr. Lee was elected President pro tem.
The proceedings of Friday were read and approved.
