eral Laws of this State, as amended by Chapter 109, of the
Acts of 1864, relating to the competency of witnesses, and to
render competent as witnesses, and authorize the examina-
tion of the parties litigant, their wives and husbands in all
suits, actions, bills or other proceedings instituted in conse-
quence of adultery, or for the purpose of obtaining a divorce,
or to any action for breach of promise of marriage.
