The proceedings of yesterday, were read anl approved.
Mr. Dennis submitted the following message :

BY THE SENATE,

March 21st, 1878.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We respectfully request you to return to the Senate, House
bill No. 118, entitled an Act to repeal Section 137, of Article -
93, of the Code of Public General Laws,.title "Testamentary
Law," sub-title "Distribution," and to re-enact the same to
read as follows.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of
Delegates.

OFFICE SECRETARY OF THE SENATE,

Annapolis, March 21, 1878.

The following Senate bills having passed both branches of
the General Assembly of Maryland, were this day presented
to the Governor for his approval.

AUGUSTUS GASSAWAY,

Secretary.

No. 134. An Act to incorporate the East, New Market
Navigation and Wharf Company.

No. 135. An Act to appropriate a sum of money to pay J.
Frank Ford, Clerk of the Circuit Court for St; Mary's
County, for services rendered the State.

No. 136. An Act to repeal Section 138, of Article 16, of
the Code of Public General Laws, title "Chancery," as en-
acted by Chapter 428, of the Acts of 1874, as enacted by Chap-
ter 370, of the Acts of 1870, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

No. 137. An Act to authorize and empower the Governor
to appoint an additional Justice of the Peace in the Second
Election District of Queen Anne's County.

No. 138. An Act supplementary to the Act of 1812, Chap-
ter 159, entitled an Act for founding an University in the
City or precincts of Baltimore, by the name of the University
of Maryland, and to authorize the regents of the University
