Mr. Bannon, from the Committee on Public Buildings,
reported favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money
to enable the managers of the State House of Correction, to
prepare the said house for the reception of inmates, and for
the erection of certain work-shops therein.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance.

Also, favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 1, of the Acts
of 1853, entitled an Act to amend an Act, entitled an Act to
establish a House of Refuge for juvenile delinquents and sup-
plements thereto, so as to reduce the number of managers
thereof, and to re-enact the same with amendments, so as to
read as follows.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. McLane, from the Committee on Finance, reported
favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act directing the Comptroller to is-
sue his warrant to the Treasurer, to pay John W. Denton
and Zachariah Bowen for services rendered by them, respec-
tively, in the State Tobacco Warehouse, No. 2.

Which was read the first time.

Also, favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to add an additional section to
Article 56, of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Li-
censes," sub-title "Brokers."

Which was read the second time.

Also, favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to provide a sum of money to
pay to M. Bannon and Henry Aisquith, for professional ser-
vices rendered the State.

Which was read the second time.

Also, favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to extend the chatter of the
Maryland Institute, for the promotion of the mechanic
arts.

Which was read the second time.
