On motion by Mr. Bannon,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with
amendments Sections 2, 3, 8, 9,10 and 11, of Chapter 233, of
the Acts of 1874, entitled "an Act to establish the Maryland
House of Correction,"

Was recommitted to the Committee on Public Buildings.

On motion by Mr. Bannon,
The order by which

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Chapter 377, of the
Acts of 1872, entitled an Act to repeal aa Act of 1870, Chap-
ter 311, entitled an Act to repeal an Act of 1868, Chapter

407, entitled "Public Education," providing a general sys-
tem of Free Public Schools for the State of Maryland, and to
repeal all laws inconsistent therewith, and to re-enact the

same with amendments, and to repeal Chapter 473, of the
Acts of 1874, amendatory of the Acts of 1872, Chapter 377,
and to re-enact the said two Acts of 1872, Chapter 377, and
the Act of 1874, Chapter 473, with amendments, so as to
read as follows,

Was recommitted to the Committee ou Education,
Was reconsidered,

And said bill made the order of the day for Tuesday, the
19th instant, at one o'clock.

On motion by Mr. Lee, it was

Ordered, That Senator Combs, of St. Mary's, have leave
of absence for a few days.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and deliv-
ered

House bill entitled an Act to prohibit the Clerk of the
Circuit Court for Frederick County from issuing license to

vendors of spirituous, vinous or malt liquors within the lim-
its of Mechanicstown Election District, No. 15, in Frederick
County.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Temperance.

Also, delivered

House bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money
to pay the claims of Harwood Iglehart, surviving partner of
James Iglehart.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance.
