Mr. Sulivane submitted the following amendment :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

In Chapter 19, Section 1, line 3, after the word "school"
insert the words "for white children."

Which was rejected by yeas and nays, as follows :

NEGATIVE.

Messrs. Bannon, McLane,
Combs, of Allegany, Miller,
Freeman, Stump,
Garey, Welfley,

Mr. Welfley submitted the following amendment :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Add at the end of Section 6, of Chapter 19, the following :
"except in Garrett County, where the schools shall be kept
open for at least five months in each year."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Bannon submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

In Section 6, line 1, Chapter 19, strike out all the words
from the beginning of the section down to and including the
word "March," in line 2, and insert in lieu thereof the fol-
lowing: "on the first day of October, one-fourth, on the
first day of January, one fourth, and one-fourth on the fif-
day of March, and all the balance collected on the fifteenth
day of June.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Sulivane moved to reconsider the vote by which said
amendment was adopted.

Which motion was rejected by yeas and nays, as follows :
