On motion by Mr. Bannon,

Leave was granted to Senators Bannon, Hepbron and Wil-
son, to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to repeal Section
7, of an Act passed at the January Session, 1876, Chapter
236, entitled an Act to repeal the Act passed at the January
Session, 1872, Chapter 254.

On motion by Mr. Miller,

Leave was granted to Senators Ford, Miller and Lloyd to
introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to regulate the catching
of fish in the waters of Wye and Miles rivers, and to regulate
the taking of terrapins in said rivers and Choptank river, in
Talbot County.

On motion by Mr. Combs, of St. Mary's,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Chesapeake
Bay and its Tributaries to introduce a bill to be entitled an
Act to prohibit dredging for oysters in the Potomac river.

OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF THE SENATE,

Annapolis, March 15th, 1878.

The Joint "Resolutions in relation to the bill now pending
before Congress granting pensions to the survivors of the
Soldiers, Sailors and Marines who served in the war with
Mexico," was this day filed in the office of the Clerk of the
Court of Appeals of Maryland.

AUGUSTUS GASSAWAY,

Secretary.

Mr. Hill, from the Committee on Agriculture, reported
unfavorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Chapter 244, of the
Acts of 1872, entitled an Ast to authorize the appointment
of Weighers of Grain by the Governor, by repealing the 6th
Section of said Act, and re enacting the same in an amend-
ed form.

Pending the consideration of the unfavorable report,
On motion by Mr. Miller,

The further consideration of said bill was postponed, and
ordered to be printed.

Mr. Cooper, from the Committee on the Chesapeake Bay
and its Tributaries, reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 1 and 2, of
the Acts of 1872, Chapter 198, entitled an Act for the pro-
